A Romantic Proposal in the Italian Gardens at Wotton House

The Venue
Wotton House is a stunning Georgian country house set within beautifully maintained grounds in the Surrey Hills, just a short drive from London. The venue is absolutely massive, and because of that, there are many different options when it comes to picking a space to propose. You can choose the Italian Gardens, or Secret Gardens which are outside. There are also numerous indoor options.
Wotton House is renowned for it's grand and timeless designs - with large statues, manicured gardens and fountains which create a stunning backdrop. It is a popular wedding venue, and for good reason.

The Setup
This specific setup took place in the Italian Gardens, which is the perfect spot for a surprise proposal. Set against the stone colonnade with the estate's fountain glittering in the foreground, our red rose heart arch was nothing short of spectacular in this setting. The contrast of the red with the surrounding greenery was simply beautiful, which is why we love summer proposals so much.
A red carpet walkway led up to the arch, with deep red roses and lush floral arrangements. Draping red satin from our stands gave the setup a soft touch as they blew with the wind, and the 'Will You Marry Me' sign was framed perfectly in the centre of the arch.
The Moment
This was another surprise proposal, meaning everything was planned meticulously before, and it had to go smoothly on the day. Jurgen arrived with Silda, and as soon as she noticed the setup, and realised it was for her, the reaction was absolutely priceless. What made it even more special, was that their two kids were also there to share the moment. It was an incredibly wholesome moment for a lovely family, and we were incredibly lucky to be a part of it.
After she said yes, the whole family came together in front of the arch for a kiss that summed up everything a proposal can be. Love, joy, family, a perfect summer's day and a setting that looked like it had been designed for exactly this moment.
It was genuinely one of the most moving proposals we have ever been part of. Huge congratulations to this wonderful family💍
