An Intimate Luxury Proposal at Wotton House, Surrey
Not every proposal needs a crowd. Sometimes the most powerful moments are the quietest ones - just two people, a stunning setting, and a question that changes everything. This proposal at Wotton House in Surrey was exactly that, and it's one we'll remember for a long time.
The Venue
Wotton House is the kind of venue that does half the work for you. A magnificent historic estate set within beautifully maintained grounds just outside of London in Surrey. It carries a natural grandeur that makes any occasion feel significant, with historic paintings, tall ceilings and elegant archways. The grand hall, with its marble fireplace, gothic arched windows and pillar columns, provided the most incredible backdrop we could have asked for. The Setup
This proposal called for something different - refined, peaceful and deeply romantic rather than bold and dramatic. In place of a heart arch, we created a sweeping arrangement of white candles in varying heights, clustered together to cast a warm, glowing light. Towering white floral centrepieces, lush arrangements of white roses and hydrangeas on gold stands, flanked the setup beautifully, with smaller bouquets scattered at ground level to soften the edges and add depth.
The result was something genuinely magical. Candlelight bouncing off the marble fireplace, fairy lights cascading down the stone columns, white flowers everywhere you looked. Peaceful, elegant and completely breathtaking.
The Moment
It was just the two of them - private, intimate, and all the more powerful for it. Walking into that room and seeing the setup for the first time, in a venue as awe-inspiring as Wotton House, is the kind of fairytale moment that stays with you forever. She said yes, and we were honoured to have played our part in it.
